If you have a device that connects to a network — like the internet; that device (without any doubt) is using logical ports.
Unlike physical ports (ethernet), which are for connecting actual devices, logical ports are used for applications, which usually run on the TCP/IP protocol.
Think of a device–the one you might holding right now–as a building and the applications as it’s residences, which want to communicate with the outside world by sending and receiving packages. To do so, all packages must first be labeled. Therefore, they need a building address and an apartment number, which is equivalent an application’s port number.
